Yacht Hire Monaco

Yacht hire in Monaco — day, evening and weekly.

From Port Hercule: day cruises to Cap-Ferrat, sunset hires around the Rock, weekend runs to Saint-Tropez and full week charters. Independent, Monaco-based concierge.

Yacht hire in Monaco, arranged by a Monaco-based concierge

Yacht hire Monaco covers a wide range of briefs — a half-day cruise to Cap-Ferrat, an evening at anchor watching the Grand Prix from the water, a family weekend to Saint-Tropez, or a full week aboard a superyacht. What links them is a single Monaco address that arranges the vessel, the crew, the berth and the shore-side logistics from one desk.

LYC Monaco is that desk. We're independent — not tied to a single fleet — so we compare hire options across the brokers, owners and yacht managers active in Port Hercule and along the Riviera. That matters because the yacht that suits a Grand Prix weekend hire is not the same yacht that suits a family day cruise; access to the whole market is how we place the right hire, not the closest one.

Below is a short guide to what yacht hire in Monaco actually involves, the yachts most commonly hired here, prices to budget against, and how to enquire. When you're ready, our concierge returns a shortlist against your dates — usually within a working day.

The main types of yacht hire in Monaco

Day hire. The most common yacht hire brief — a single day out of Port Hercule, typically 09:00 to 18:00. Cruise to Cap-Ferrat, anchor for lunch off Villefranche or Beaulieu, swim, watersports, back to Monaco for evening. Chef and lunch service on board are standard on 24m+ yachts.

Evening hire. Sunset cocktail cruises around the Rock of Monaco, dinner at anchor off Cap-Martin, private aperitivo runs during Formula 1 practice sessions. Typically 5–7 hours, from around 17:00.

Overnight hire. A single night on board — often paired with a specific event (a Grand Prix session, a Cannes Film Festival premiere, a Monaco Yacht Show party). The yacht stays at anchor or on the berth; sleeps up to 12 guests.

Weekend hire. Two or three nights across a weekend, usually with one destination overnight (Saint-Tropez, Portofino, Île de Porquerolles). Often chartered as a mini-break outside the traditional 7-night frame.

Weekly hire. The industry-standard seven nights, priced under the MYBA charter agreement. Sees the whole Riviera and Corsica or Sardinia if time allows.

Yachts you can hire from Monaco

The realistic fleet for Monaco yacht hire spans from 15m open dayboats (Riva, Wajer, Frauscher) through 24–35m motor yachts (Sunseeker, Azimut, Sanlorenzo) up to 40m+ superyachts (Feadship, Oceanco, Benetti). Each has a different hire footprint.

Below 24m the yacht can typically be hired by the day or half-day without APA overhead. From 24m to 40m, day and evening hires are placeable but weekly hires dominate the market. Above 40m, weekly hire is the norm — day hire on a superyacht is unusual and prices reflect that.

Because we're independent, we don't push a particular hull. Tell us the party size, the length of hire and the mood — quiet family day, corporate entertaining, Grand Prix hospitality — and we return the yachts that fit, from the brokers most likely to have them free.

Monaco yacht hire — indicative prices

Yacht hire pricing is not always weekly. Here's a working guide for high season (June–September). All figures exclude VAT.

Day hire (09:00–18:00). 15–20m motor yacht: €4,000–€8,000 all-in. 24m: €8,000–€14,000. 30m: €14,000–€22,000. 35m+: €22,000 upward, typically quoted daily rate + fuel.

Evening hire (5–7 hours). Roughly 60–70% of a full day rate.

Overnight (24 hours). 30m: €25,000–€40,000 + APA. 40m: €40,000–€70,000 + APA.

Weekend (2–3 nights). Typically 40–50% of a full week charter.

Weekly (7 nights). From €80,000 per week (25m) to seven figures for superyachts. See Monaco yacht charter prices for the full weekly market map.

Event weeks (Grand Prix, Yacht Show, Cannes Film Festival) add 30–100% to every band, and day-only hire is often unavailable on event dates.

How to hire a yacht in Monaco

Send a brief — dates, party size, whether you want a day, an evening or overnight, and any anchorages or events you have in mind. A Monaco-based concierge returns a shortlist of three to five yachts within one working day, each with photos, layout, crew notes and an all-in price.

Once you confirm a yacht, we issue a hire agreement (a shortened MYBA contract for anything overnight or longer, a simple charter voucher for day hires), collect a deposit, and coordinate the pickup — including berthing pass, provisioning notes, dietary preferences and any watersports gear you'd like on board.

On the day, arrive at the yacht in Port Hercule and step aboard. The captain and crew handle every operational detail from that point onward. Any changes to the itinerary in real time — a lunch at a different port, a longer swim stop, an unscheduled marina call — go through the captain and are logged for the reconciliation at the end of the hire.

Frequently asked questions

How is yacht hire in Monaco different from a full week charter?+

Yacht hire in Monaco usually refers to shorter arrangements — a day, an evening, a weekend — whereas a full charter typically runs a week. LYC Monaco places both, using the same brokerage relationships and MYBA contract framework, scaled to the length of the hire.

What does it cost to hire a yacht in Monaco?+

Day-hire on a 20–30m motor yacht starts around €8,000–€18,000 all-in during high season. Overnight yacht hire on a 30–40m yacht sits at €25,000–€60,000 per 24 hours plus APA. Weekly hire enters the standard charter market — from €80,000 per week for 25m yachts up to seven figures for superyachts.

Can I hire a yacht from Port Hercule without a captain?+

Not on any yacht LYC Monaco arranges. Every hire includes a licensed captain and, on larger yachts, a full crew. Monaco's berthing regulations and Mediterranean maritime law both require a qualified skipper for yachts over 24 metres, and every reputable owner requires one below that too.

How much notice do I need to hire a yacht in Monaco?+

For a weekday day-hire outside event weeks, 48–72 hours is often workable. Weekend hires in July–August need 2–3 weeks. Grand Prix, Cannes Film Festival and Monaco Yacht Show hires are quoted 6–12 months in advance.

Is fuel included when hiring a yacht in Monaco?+

On short day-hires quoted as an all-in package, yes — a set fuel budget is baked into the rate. On longer hires the yacht runs under APA (Advance Provisioning Allowance), where the client pre-funds ~30% of the charter fee for fuel, provisions and berthing, reconciled at the end.

Can I hire a yacht in Monaco for a corporate event?+

Yes. We regularly place yachts for board dinners, product launches, client hospitality and roadshow entertaining — either at the berth in Port Hercule or cruising the bay. Capacities range from 12 seated guests on a mid-size yacht to 100+ standing on a superyacht.
