A typical day
Boarding is usually mid-morning at Port Hercule or one of the neighbouring quays. From there, the day flows: a short cruise east toward Cap Martin and the Italian border, or west along Cap d'Ail toward Cap Ferrat, Villefranche and Beaulieu; an anchor stop of two to three hours for swimming, water toys and lunch on board; and an unhurried return along the coast in the afternoon light. Longer days can push further west toward the Îles de Lérins off Cannes, though that itinerary is more comfortable on a fast yacht and in settled weather.
What is included
The yacht, its crew, fuel for a standard day itinerary, mooring at Port Hercule for the day, standard water toys (paddleboards, snorkelling equipment, often a jet ski or SeaBob depending on the yacht) and soft drinks and water on board are typically included in the day rate. Alcohol, chef-prepared meals and any premium provisioning are arranged separately — either sent aboard from a Monaco caterer or, on smaller yachts, prepared by an on-board chef where available. Yacht choice for a day
Day charters are often best on yachts of forty to eighty feet — quick to reposition, easy to board, and configured for a full day at anchor with a large sun-lounging platform and a wide bathing area. Larger superyachts are also available for day use, though they suit hosting formats where guests remain aboard for longer and use the yacht more as a venue than as a moving vessel. For fifteen to thirty day-guests hosted alongside, larger yachts are frequently the better choice.
Guest counts
Day-guest counts are usually higher than overnight guest counts — most yachts we recommend welcome ten to twelve day-guests, and some accommodate more when moored alongside. The captain confirms the specific maximum for each yacht, which depends on flag, safety equipment and the intended cruising area. For celebrations or corporate hosting with larger groups, we can advise on the yacht and the format that works.
Weather and windows
Day charters are weather-sensitive by nature. The captain has final say on itinerary and, in rare cases, on whether the day proceeds at all. Sensible booking involves a modest weather buffer — day charters at the edges of the season (April, October) are magical when the weather cooperates and are managed carefully when it does not.
Rates and shape
Day-charter rates from Monaco start in the low thousands of euros for smaller yachts and rise substantially for larger superyachts used alongside as venues.
