Categories
Every Monaco yacht falls into one of three working categories. Each answers a different guest brief — day cruising, a full week on board, or the kind of week only a superyacht can deliver.
Day yachts
12–20 metres, up to 12 guests, no overnight accommodation required. Perfect for a day out of Port Hercule — Cap Ferrat, Villefranche or Îles de Lérins — before returning to a hotel ashore. Wajers and Rivas dominate this category.
Motor yachts
20–40 metres with full crew, private cabins and a chef on board. The workhorse of a Monaco yacht charter — comfortable for a weekend to Saint-Tropez or a week between the two Rivieras. Sunseeker, Azimut and San Lorenzo lead this size band.
Superyachts
40 metres and up. Multiple decks, larger crews, tenders and toys sufficient for an island week or a Grand Prix berth. Feadship, Oceanco and Lürssen builds anchor this tier, along with San Lorenzo's flagship series.
Size guide
Under maritime law, private charter yachts in the Mediterranean carry a maximum of twelve sleeping guests, whatever the length. What size buys you is space, staff and range — not more berths. Use this table to place your brief against the right band of yachts Monaco can arrange.
Every rate is an indicative base fee for a summer week. Add APA (25–35%) for fuel, provisioning and berthing, plus applicable VAT.
Day yachts
For guests staying ashore in Monte-Carlo or Cap Ferrat, a day yacht in Monaco offers the coast without committing to a full week on board. Boarding is directly from Port Hercule or the quay in front of your hotel; return is usually before evening service.
Six to twelve guests for the day. Above twelve, a second yacht or a certified passenger vessel is arranged in parallel.
Cap-d'Ail → Villefranche → Paloma Beach → return. Longer days reach Cannes and the Îles de Lérins.
€8,000 – €25,000 per day. Fuel, food and beverages are usually billed at cost or on a pre-agreed package.
Weekly yachts
The heart of the Monaco yachts market. A weekly charter buys privacy, distance and a chef — the yacht becomes your hotel, your restaurant and your route. Most guests book five to ten nights on board, most yachts require a seven-night minimum during peak weeks.

Board on Saturday afternoon in Port Hercule; a first-night dinner on the aft deck; Sunday sees Cap Ferrat and Villefranche. Through the week the yacht moves west to Saint-Tropez or east to Portofino and the Cinque Terre. Guests return to Monaco by Saturday morning.
Not every Monaco yacht charter runs a full week. Three-night Grand Prix stays, weekend runs to Saint-Tropez and four-night Monaco Yacht Show weeks are all placeable, subject to the yacht's calendar. Ask directly.

A day out of Port Hercule needs a very different yacht from a week to Corsica. Range, fuel capacity and sea-keeping matter for longer passages; a shorter, sheltered brief opens the door to smaller, more agile yachts.
