Weekly Yacht Charter Prices
A weekly base fee is what most MYBA yachts publish as their headline number. It covers the yacht, the crew and insurance for seven nights. Everything else — fuel, food, wines, foreign berthing, comms — sits in the APA.

What Affects the Cost of a Yacht Charter?
The final invoice on a Monaco yacht charter is the sum of nine moving parts. Understanding them lets you decide where to spend, and where to trim.
Yacht size
The single largest driver. Every additional 10 metres roughly doubles crew count, fuel burn and berthing cost.
Season
Peak (Jul–Aug + event weeks) sits at the top of the range. May, June and September deliver the same yacht at 15–30% lower base fee.
Duration
Day charters carry a premium per hour vs. a weekly booking. MYBA yachts often impose a seven-night minimum in peak.
Fuel consumption
Cruising speed vs. displacement transit changes fuel spend by a factor of three. Ambitious itineraries at 18+ knots move APA well past 35%.
Route
Coastal Riviera (Monaco–Saint-Tropez) is the most efficient. Corsica–Sardinia adds crossings; Balearics adds two full delivery days.
Food and beverages
APA absorbs it, but the ceiling is elastic. A conservative F&B plan sits at €300–500 per guest per day; a vintage wine list can add multiples.
Berthing
The yacht's home port is included; overnight berthing elsewhere (Saint-Tropez, Portofino, Porto Cervo in August) can run €5,000–€15,000 per night.

Contract mechanics
Deposits, Taxes and Additional Expenses
Deposit
MYBA-standard: 50% of the base fee on signing the charter agreement. The balance is due 30 days before boarding, alongside the pre-paid APA.
VAT
20% in Monaco and French waters. Itineraries that spend qualifying time in international waters or non-EU ports (Montenegro, Turkey) attract lower or nil VAT — structured by your MYBA broker.
Crew gratuity
Discretionary, customary at 5–15% of the base fee, paid to the captain at the end of the charter for distribution to the crew.
Cancellation
MYBA-standard: loss of deposit if cancelled more than 60 days out; full base fee inside 60 days. Charter cancellation and curtailment insurance is available and strongly recommended.
Delivery/redelivery fees
If the yacht is delivered outside her home port for embarkation, or redelivered elsewhere, fuel and crew time for the delivery legs are billed at cost.
Optional extras
Helicopter transfer, land-side chefs at Michelin restaurants, private security, additional water toys and event tickets are quoted line-by-line and billed at cost + agency.

What is the cheapest yacht rental in Monaco?+
The most affordable way to rent a yacht in Monaco is a shoulder-season half-day charter (May or late September) on a 15–18m day yacht, which typically starts around €5,000 all-in. Weekly, the entry point is roughly €35,000 base fee for a 20–25m motor yacht in low season, plus APA and VAT.
Why do Monaco yacht charter prices vary so much?+
Charter pricing is a function of the yacht's build, size, crew count and age, layered on top of season, duration, route, fuel consumption, F&B, berthing and any event uplift. A 40m yacht that burns 300 litres an hour and one that burns 900 litres an hour will invoice very different APAs even at the same base fee.
Is the APA the same as a deposit?+
No. The APA (Advance Provisioning Allowance) is a working budget of 25–35% of the base fee, pre-paid to the captain and spent on your behalf on fuel, food, wines, berthing outside the home port, comms and laundry. It is reconciled at the end of the charter with receipts. The deposit — typically 50% of the base fee — is a contractual payment to secure the yacht.
Do Monaco yacht charter prices include tax?+
Quoted base fees are ex-VAT. VAT is applied to the base fee at the rate of the country whose waters you spend time in — 20% in Monaco and French waters, with lower or nil rates achievable on itineraries that spend qualifying time in international waters or non-EU ports. Your MYBA-registered broker structures the itinerary to be tax-efficient and legal.
Can I negotiate a yacht charter price?+
Base fees on MYBA-listed yachts are set by the owner and rarely discounted in peak season. In shoulder weeks, and on repositioning legs, discounts of 10–20% are achievable. What is more commonly negotiated is inclusion of specific extras (helicopter transfer, land-side chef, additional water toys) rather than the headline base fee.
How far in advance should I book to get the best price?+
For peak weeks — Grand Prix, Cannes Film Festival, Monaco Yacht Show, mid-August — book six to twelve months ahead to secure the yacht at published rates. Late bookings in event windows almost always sit at the top of the price band. For shoulder weeks, prices are stable four to eight weeks out.
Does the yacht rental price change based on the number of guests?+
The base fee is the same whether you sail with two guests or twelve; you are chartering the yacht, not seats. APA scales with headcount because food, beverages, water toys fuel and berthing footprint grow with the group. Children count as guests against the 12-guest overnight cap under Mediterranean law.
